National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is India’s best known institute of fashion established by the Ministry of Textiles. 2. NID
National Institute of Design (NID) is considered amongst the most reputed institutions of design in India. It has been declared an ‘Institution of National Importance’ by the Act of Parliament, by virtue of the National Institute of Design Act 2014. It is also recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research as a ‘Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.’
NID provides a limited number of scholarships to financially deserving candidates. In order to be eligible, the total income of earning members of your family should be less than a prescribed figure. Further information is available with the NID administration.
3. Pearl Academy
Pearl Academy is the most popular name amongst private institutions in fashion. They offer quality education and campus placements. However, as is common with most private institutions the fee is on the higher side. Currently, they have two scholarships for their undergraduate and post-graduate programs. The ‘Who’s Next?’ scholarship is available for 25 students based on the assessment of their application and the ‘Merit-cum-Means Scholarship’ is offered to new entrants in all programs at the time of admission, based on their financial background, for the first year only. The merit-cum-means scholarship provides a partial waiver of tuition fees.
