Rina Dhaka Showcased Her Collection “Homage” At LMIFW SS’21!

At the first-ever Phygital Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2021, fashion in India took new shape as ace fashion designer Rina Dhaka showcased her trailblazing collection. Rina titled the latest collection- “Homage.” Apart from acing the dressing sense and style in-country, the designs were created to celebrate those who are lost in the layers of larger than life magnificent brick and mortar retail stores and runways. The Story Behind The Collection!

Like every other designer, Rina also aimed to transform the dressing sense among Indian consumers through her latest collection. Apart from this, the designer also looked forward to showcasing fashion that had a reason. Her Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week collection resonated with the austerity and simplicity with which those who are living on the fringes of society faced the worst crisis of the decade. She took fashion in India to new heights with a collection that had a larger than life reason.

“Homage” By Rina Dhaka!

Rina Dhaka’s latest collection paid homage to their grit. It reflected the bravery. It portrayed how the migrant workers looked at the disaster in the eye and yet marched on to a place called “home.” It is a metaphor for security, warmth, and comfort.

The collection featured- short ivory kurta with lace inset and detailing paired with garara in mulmul and lace, a blush nude kurta with intricate floral embroidery paired with slit pants. It had dupattas with ruffled detailing. The collection aced the women dressing sense and showcased- sharara in net lace with short kurta, ruffle lace blouse in cascading effect paired with silver sequins, and lace net skirt. It had blush peach kurta with detailing in sparkling silver paired with sharara and beige georgette saree with delicate lace border paired with all over embroidered blouse with intricate floral motifs. All the garments aced fashion in India and showcased garments that had detailing and embroideries of various sizes and shapes, giving it the elegance and feminine vibe.

Rina said- “Over the last 30 years, both professionally and personally, I have weathered many storms. However, in Buddhism, they always teach you to accept challenges, and that’s just what I did.” She explained how she could relate with migrant workers- “Maybe that’s why I could, onsome level, connect with the migrant workers, who have been part of my arduous trajectory to getting to where I have reached.”
