The digital world is taking over our lives due to the pandemic situation. With every industry and individual being hit hard by the COVID-19, the fashion industry is also struggling for its existence. But, to stand against the pandemic, the fashion world has come together and opted for digitalization to bloom back. The industry responsible for influencing fashion in India and dressing sense is now all set to overcome this period of despair. As fashion in India is influenced mainly by Indian fashion shows, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) is organizing all the fashion shows and events online. After the success of the first-ever digital India Couture Week (ICW), FDCI organized the first-ever Phygital avatar of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week ( LMIFW). Numerous fashion designers were a part of the fashion week and showcased their latest Spring-Summer 2021 collections.

Samant Chauhan, the Indian fashion designer whose designs impact the dressing sense in India, was also a part of the fashion week. The designer showcased his latest Spring-Summer 2021 collection- ‘Ode’.

Ode!

The latest collection by the Indian fashion designer Samant Chauhan is an homage to colors and shades. ‘Ode’ represents the colors of reimagining a world in memory. The fabrics mostly used are his signature fabrics- silk and organza. The collection is an attempt to bring back life to the old structure silhouettes with cold shoulder and low neckline. The latest work by Samant Chauhan is an homage to changing moods and absence, which we experience in spite of the love and happiness. The vibrant collection consists of handcrafted 3D detailing.

The designs are a representation of what the world is going through. The outfits in the collection are silver and metal embroidered. The designer has experimented with colors and designs for ‘Ode.’ The apparels that were dominant in the Spring Summer 2021 collection of Samant Chauhan were capes and flared pants. The dominating color shades in the color palette of ‘Ode’ were red, pink, and bottle green. The collection will surely make its place in fashion in India and impact dressing sense in the country.
