The doses recommended are in two slots in a difference of 4–6 weeks or even 12 weeks as per a study. The Covishield vaccination has been shown in clinical trials to prevent COVID 19. However, the duration of protection is unknown.

Following the TOI, the Bharat indigenous Covaxin is said to neutralize many variants including the B.1.617 and B.1.1.7. The efficacy rate of Covaxin is 81%. Developed by Bharat Biotech and ICMR, this vaccination as per bharatbiotech.com should be given in two doses. The second dose shall be administered with 28 days of the first dose.

The Covaxin fact sheet mentions that the vaccination can be given to individuals above 18 years and prior health conditions must be mentioned to the administrator.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories have launched Sputnik V in India. The vaccination as per the news has a 91% efficacy. The Sputnik V vaccination originally manufactured by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow recommends a double jab for the vaccination. This vaccination is a widely used vaccination across the nation in India.
